PONDA: Curti -Khandepar Panchayat Gramsabha held on Sunday complained that locals youths were being sidelined in jobs in Industries within Panchayat jurisdiction and passed a resolution demanding to implement it for 75 per cent jobs reservation.
The locals also discussed stray cattle issues, health issues, traffic plying on old Khandepar bridge, street lights, construction of bandara on Khandepar river and expenditure on garbage management.
During gramsabha, locals pointed out that several new units coming up in the Panchayat area.
However, they said, local youth are sidelined while migrants are easily getting jobs.
Therefore locals demanded to implement resevration of 75 per cent of jobs in these industries to local youths.
The Locals also pointed out several stray cattle injures in the accidents and demanded to solve this issue as also proper care and treatment to injured cattle.
Locals also demanded to take action against dumping of garbage into Khandepar river from bridge and CCTVs cameras at important places.
Sandeep Parkar demanded that Panchayat stop wasting huge amounts of money on lifting garbage from the Panchayat area, and instead, it should give this responsibility to Ponda Municipal Council (PMC).
He said in 2007, PMC had given an undertaking in Court that it would lift garbage of Panchayat while setting up its garbage treatment plant in Curti Khandepar Panchayat area.
