PONDA: The locals of Curti complained about defunct CCTV cameras installed in Curti Khandepar Panchayat Jurisdiction some two months ago
Complainant Sandeep Parkar said around 28 CCTV were installed in Curti Khandepar Panchayat areas two months ago to keep vigil and take action against people throwing garbage in the open.
However, according to Parkar, as per information, around 8 CCTV cameras are not functioning.
He said there is an agreement by the Contractor for maintenance work on this camera. In his complaint to Panchayat, he demanded an Inquiry & Action against the CCTV Contractor for no service & non-complying with the norms.
He said Contractor has failed to provide service for CCTV cameras even after signing the agreement of maintenance. The only camera which was installed near MIBK High School, Khandepar, was removed one month back without the replacement of stand by the camera to the pole
He requested the Sarpanch/Secretary of the Panchayat to conduct a detail Inquiry into the matter and to take strong action on the Contractor by imposing a fine & FIR should be registered at the Ponda police station. So kindly do the needful at the earliest.
Meanwhile, when asked, Sarpanch Naved Tehsildar said the Panchayat had already issued a Show Cause notice to the Contractor for defunct CCTV cameras. He said action would be taken if the cameras were not repaired. He said Contractor had informed that due to some technical problem, the CCTVs were not operating.
