PONDA: The sports complex at Curti in Ponda was formally christened as the Ravi Sports Complex by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant at a ceremony held in honour of late Shri Ravi Naik, recognising his contributions to public service and regional development.
The naming ceremony paid tribute to Naik’s people-focused leadership and his enduring role in shaping developmental initiatives in the Ponda region. Speakers at the event highlighted his commitment to grassroots progress and community welfare.
The newly named Ravi Sports Complex is expected to emerge as a key centre for nurturing sporting talent in the area. With improved infrastructure and facilities, the complex aims to promote wider participation in sports at the grassroots level and provide aspiring athletes with opportunities to hone their skills.
The initiative is seen as both a memorial to Naik’s legacy and an investment in the future of sports in Ponda.
