CURTORIM: Panic gripped a family in Curtorim after a minor boy was reported missing and suspected to have been kidnapped from his home on Sunday morning.
However, swift investigation by Goa Police revealed that the boy had boarded a Delhi-bound train on his own, and he was later traced safely in the capital.
The complaint was lodged by Basangowda Rudragowda, resident of Curtorim, who reported that his minor son had gone missing around 11:00 am from their residence. Initial suspicion suggested kidnapping by unknown persons.
During the investigation, CCTV footage from Konkan Railway Police Station showed the boy boarding a train to Delhi. Further checks of his laptop search history indicated he had been looking up “Cricket Academy Delhi,” suggesting his intent to travel voluntarily.
A police team comprising PC Ejaz Sakli and PC Samir Shaikh was dispatched to Delhi. With the assistance of Connaught Place Police Station, the boy was traced and secured safely.
The investigation was carried out by LPSI Sonal Gounkar under the guidance of PI Arun A. Gauns Dessai, supervision of SDPO Margao Siddhant U. Shirodkar, and overall supervision of SP (South) Tikam Singh Verma.
