CURTORIM: A local man, identified as Amar Kulal, has been arrested by the Maina Curtorim police on grave charges of assaulting a minor girl over a period of more than a year.
The arrest followed a formal complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, who revealed that the abuse began in September 2024 and continued until January 6, 2026. The incidents reportedly took place at TNK, Curtorim, where the accused allegedly subjected the minor to repeated sexual harassment and assault.
Following the report, the police moved swiftly to take Kulal, a resident of Curtorim, into custody. The case is now under intensive investigation to ensure all evidence is documented and the survivor receives necessary support. The probe is currently being spearheaded by Lady Police Sub-Inspector (LPSI) Veronica Coutinho of the Maina Curtorim Police Station, as authorities work to finalize the charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant legal provisions.
