Panaji: The Cyber Crime Police Station, Goa, has arrested a 23-year-old man on charges of violating a woman’s privacy and circulating sexually explicit material online. The arrest was made in connection with Crime No. 37/2025, registered under Sections 79 and 356 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 66-C, 66-E, 67, and 67-A of the Information Technology Act.
The accused has been identified as Sadhim Mohammad, a resident of Caranzalem, Taleigao, North Goa. Police said the complaint was filed by a Bambolim resident, who alleged that the accused — her former boyfriend — misused her private photographs obtained during their relationship.
According to the police, after the relationship ended, Sadhim allegedly created multiple fake Instagram and Snapchat accounts, using handles such as “noXXXX0”, “iceXXXaa.i”, “@theXXXXXXrer”, “@XXX0”, “@sXXXok”, and “@XXjuu”. Through these accounts, he is accused of sharing the complainant’s private images with her friends, causing her humiliation and mental distress.
A team led by PSI Anil Polekar and Navin Naik, along with PC Vinay Amonkar and PC Akshay Verlekar, carried out searches in Margao and Panaji to track down the suspect. The operation was supervised by SP Rahul Gupta, IPS, ASP B.V. Shridevi, IPS, and PI Deepak Pednekar of the Cyber Crime Police Station.
The accused, born on September 11, 2002, was taken into custody after being found uncooperative during interrogation. He was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) on Sunday and has been remanded to two days of police custody.
Cyber Crime Police have said further investigation is underway.
