PANAJI: Goa registered cyber fraud cases amounting to nearly ₹100 crore in the past year, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant revealed.
Highlighting the growing menace of online scams, Sawant said most fraudsters operate from outside the country, targeting unsuspecting citizens through various digital platforms.
He stressed that awareness was the most effective tool to combat such crimes.
“There is a need to create awareness about these fraudsters, who operate from abroad. BJP leaders should become ambassadors against cyber fraud,” the Chief Minister said, urging party workers to take up the campaign at the grassroots level.
The CM also called for greater cooperation between law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, and the public to strengthen cyber security and protect citizens from online scams.
