MARGAO: Damdolem Sports Club outplayed Sporting Club Virabhat 6-2 to enter into the semifinals of the 1st Caniza Peixoto Memorial football tournament, organised by Agxem Sports Club and played at St.Alex Church ground Curtorim.
Damdolem opened the scoreline through Joy Hilario in the 5th minute of play while Sporting club Virabhat equalise in the 10th through Joslan with neat placement and SC Virabhat increased the lead in the 22nd minute of play by Baptista with a header and remained 2-1 lead at the half time.
Damdolem Sports Club regrouped quickly and took control of the game and outplayed SC Virabhat by scoring five goals, a hat-trick by Joy Hilario in the 35th, 42nd and 46th minutes of play while Ryan and Nelson also added their names to the scoresheet by scoring in the 39th and 44th minutes of play and seal the fate of SC Virabhat and made semifinals spot secure.
Joy Hilario was awarded man of the match for scoring four goals by Jose castanah ex-player of Agxem.
