CANACONA: Shree Damodar Higher Secondary School of Science, Comba, Margao, secured first place at the All-Goa Inter-Higher Secondary Quiz Competition hosted by Cuncolim United Higher Secondary School recently.
The competition, organised by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Cuncolim United HSS, marked the institution’s first All-Goa Inter-Higher Secondary Quiz Competition and brought together twelve higher secondary schools from across the State for an engaging and intellectually stimulating afternoon.
The programme began with a welcome address by Principal Mrs. Rosita Costa Baretto, who said that the competition was not only about celebrating winners but also about fostering the spirit of learning, curiosity and healthy competition among students.
Miss Twizel Coutinho conducted the quiz as Quiz Master. After seven keenly contested rounds, Shree Damodar Higher Secondary School of Science, Comba, Margao, emerged winners. R.M.S. Higher Secondary School, Comba, Margao, secured second place, while St. Andrew’s Higher Secondary School, Vaddem, Vasco, finished third. Shree Mallikarjun Higher Secondary School, Canacona, bagged the fourth position.
The post-quiz programme was compered by Mrs. Christine Martins. The chief guest for the function was Dr. Aniketh A. Gaonkar, an alumnus of Cuncolim United Higher Secondary School. The vote of thanks was delivered by PTA executive member Mrs. Indira Fernandes.
