Goemkaponn DeskPANAJI: The Director of Mines and Geology has issued a show cause notice to mining firm Damodar Mangalji & Co for alleged illegal mining in Pissurlem.
The notice, issued based on complaints filed by one Gajanan Vasant Parab, is to be replied within 15 days.
The complainant had alleged that the firm was involved in illegal extraction and sale of ore since February 2020.
Filing to reply to the notice will force the department to initiate action against the firm.
