FATORDA: Fatorda police have booked a woman employee of a private firm for allegedly forging an official document and impersonating a state government corporation to mislead a bank. The case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by Akhil Chadha, Director of M/s Tatsavi and Manikanta Ventures Pvt. Ltd, which operates its branch office at Gogol, Fatorda.
According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Anjali Naik, who was employed as a data entry operator with the company, was entrusted with the task of seeking clarification related to a project. Instead, she allegedly created a fake document by editing an original letter purportedly issued by the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (SIPCOT), Egmore, Chennai. Police said the accused tampered with the timeframe mentioned in the project letter issued in the company’s name and uploaded the forged document before emailing it to a bank in Guindy, Chennai, without authorisation from the complainant.
The act reportedly affected the company’s project, causing delays in securing permissions and completing mortgage formalities with both the bank and SIPCOT. Further investigation is being carried out by PI Nathan de Almeida of Fatorda Police Station.
