PANAJI: In a heart-stopping display of skill and determination, Sporting Club Davorlim edged out Curtorim Gymkhana in a nail-biting penalty shootout, securing their spot in the Vaidya Family Memorial Cup finals. The match, which ended in a deadlock, culminated in a dramatic tiebreaker where Davorlim emerged victorious with a 5-4 score. Ajay Raj’s outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award, highlighting his pivotal role in the team’s success.
The match outcome was decided by a thrilling penalty shootout, where Sporting Club Davorlim defeated Curtorim Gymkhana 5-4. This intense encounter took place at the Government School ground in Cuncolim, organized by Cuncolim Union. Davorlim’s successful penalties were scored by William Niasso, Adarsh Raj, Aaron Fernandes, Ajay Raj, and Alent Colaco. Meanwhile, Curtorim Gymkhana’s efforts were marked by successful penalties from Rayan Fernandes, Anslem Fernandes, Rhay Dias, and Aliston Fernandes. Ajay Raj received the Man of the Match award from Hitesh Patil and Harshit, DM of New India Insurance, in recognition of his exceptional performance.
