PANAJI: In the true spirit of Christmas, Don Bosco College (DBC), Panjim, through its Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) Cell in collaboration with the Campus Ministry Cell, organised a Christmas Outreach and Donation Drive on 15 December 2025, reaching out to children, senior citizens, and animal welfare groups across Goa.
The initiative aimed to spread joy, compassion, and the message of sharing during the festive season, while sensitising students to the importance of social responsibility and community service.
As part of the outreach programme, students and faculty visited St. Anthony’s Home, Seraulim (Verna), where essential food items were donated for the resident children. The visit was marked by warm interactions and joyful moments as students sang Christmas carols, filling the home with festive cheer.
The outreach also extended to senior citizens through visits to Daddy’s Home, Chandor; Lar de Terezinha, Margao; Arc of Hope Old Age Home; Mae de Deus Old Age Home; and Krist Raj Bhavan, Saligao. Students and faculty spent quality time with the elderly, engaging in conversations, singing carols, light dancing, and sharing laughter. At the Arc of Hope Old Age Home, instrumental and vocal carol performances along with interactive sessions created a heart-warming atmosphere, fostering meaningful intergenerational bonds.
Another highlight of the Christmas outreach was the visit to Margaret Bosco Bal Sadan, Bastora, where donated items were formally handed over to the institution. The visit concluded with a joyful programme featuring Christmas carols, games, spot prizes, and dancing, bringing smiles and happiness to the children.
Extending compassion beyond people, the outreach also included an interaction with Trailblazers, a volunteer-based animal welfare group in Vasco. The interaction shed light on the group’s selfless efforts in rescuing, feeding, and sterilising animals in distress and opened avenues for future collaboration.
Faculty members noted that the outreach programme gave students an opportunity to step beyond the classroom and experience the values of empathy, kindness, and service first-hand. While spreading festive cheer among the beneficiaries, the initiative also left a lasting impact on the students, inspiring them to become socially conscious and compassionate citizens.
The Christmas Outreach and Donation Drive 2025 reflected Don Bosco College, Panjim’s commitment to holistic education and community engagement, making the season of Christmas one of love, sharing, and meaningful human connection.
