SANGUEM: A highly decomposed body of a male was discovered in a rented room at Saudimol, Sanguem, on receiving information from PSI Premanand Naik of Sanguem Police Station.
Police visited the spot and found the room latched from inside. On peeping through the window, a male person was seen lying motionless on the floor in a prone position. With assistance from the Fire and Emergency Services, the door was forcibly opened.
The deceased was identified as Suresh Khadakar, son of Hirappa Khadakar, originally from Siddhapur, Karnataka, and presently residing at Dabamol, Sanguem. According to the room owner, Melba Fernandes, the deceased had been living alone at the premises for the past year and worked as a caretaker-cum-mason.
A Panchanama of the Unnatural Death (UD) was conducted at the scene, and the body has been sent to District Hospital, Margao, for medico-legal examination.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Krishnadeep Borkar of Sanguem Police Station.
