Panaji: A 59-year-old man from Agassaim village near Panaji who was declared dead returned home on Wednesday shocking his entire family.
Agassaim police inspector Vikram Naik said that the family of Marcos Milagres had filed missing complaint with them somewhere in October month last year.
He said that body of a person was found in Panaji on October 07, 2023 which was identified to be of Milagres by his family members.
The postmortem on the body was conducted at Goa Medical College and Hospital near here and it was handed over to the family.
Naik said that the family members had even conducted final rites on the body and cremated it.
Two months later, Agassaim police received a call from Mumbai police about a person claiming to be Marcos Milagres. Naik said that the person was brought to the police station where his family identified him.
Marcos had gone to Mumbai on his own without informing the family, he said.
