Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today stated that the decision on re-opening of schools will be taken only after October 2, 2020, however, students of std 10th and 12th can voluntarily go to schools and meet the teachers to solve their difficulties as per the guidelines mentioned in Unlock 4.
The Chief Minister today held a virtual meeting with education experts and stakeholders to discuss the New Education Policy, 2021 and decide on the re-opening of schools. Secretary, Education Nila Mohanan, IAS, Director of Education Santosh Amonkar, Chairman of Task Force Committee for implementation of New Education Policy 2020 and MLA Shiroda Subhash Shirodakar, ADEIs of all the talukas and representatives of respective associations attended the same.
“Decision regarding reopening of schools, especially std 10th and 12th will be taken only after October 2 in consultation with experts and considering the pandemic situation. Internet connectivity is still an issue for students in villages, the Government will address this as soon as possible,” the Chief Minister informed.
The Chief Minister also appealed to the stakeholders and representatives to study the New Education Policy and offer their suggestions to the task force committees formed. “Every teacher, headmaster and PTA member should study the policy and give their valuable inputs to the task force committees,” the Chief Minister said.
