Colva: The decomposed body of a 29-year-old man was found lying in a bushy sandy area near a resort at Utorda, prompting an inquiry by Colva police.
According to police, the information was received from an unknown caller stating that a male person was lying in an unconscious and decomposed state in a bushy sandy area near a resort in Utorda.
Police visited the spot and identified the deceased as Krishna Baraik (29), a resident of Pedda, Utorda in Varca and a native of Jharkhand.
Officials said the body was emitting a foul smell and had already begun decomposing when it was discovered.
Police conducted a scene of unnatural death (UD) occurrence panchanama and an inquest panchanama at the site. The body has been sent to the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for preservation and further medico-legal formalities.
Further inquiry is being carried out by PSI Prathamesh Mahale of Colva Police Station.
