Panaji: An unidentified decomposed male body was found near the beach area at Caranzalem on Tuesday evening.
According to information from Panaji Police Station, a phone call was received from PC Siddhesh Dessai stating that a lifeguard had informed him about an unknown man lying near the beach area at Caranzalem.
Acting on the information, PSI Nitin Naik visited the spot where a decomposed male person was found lying face down on the grass. A search of the surrounding area was conducted by the police team, however, nothing suspicious was found at the scene.
Police conducted the scene of panchanama in the presence of two panch witnesses and recorded the proceedings on E-Sakshya. The Goa State Forensic Science Laboratory team was called to the spot and necessary samples were collected.
The body was later shifted to the morgue at Goa Medical College and Hospital for preservation.
