EKOSHIM: The decomposed body of a woman, estimated to be around 55 years old, was discovered floating in a river behind Sameer Bar at Ekoshim on Monday morning.
According to sources, a local resident who had gone to collect flowers for prayers noticed the body drifting in the water and immediately informed the authorities. The Porvorim Fire Brigade, along with police personnel and the 108 ambulance service, rushed to the scene. With assistance from the fire team, the body was recovered and handed over to the police.
Following the completion of the panchanama formalities, the remains were sent to Goa Medical College (GMC) for a post-mortem examination. Police stated that the identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed. An investigation is ongoing to ascertain the cause of death and the circumstances that led to her being found in the river.
