PANAJI: The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, has been organizing the annual Deepotsav event at Porvorim, which celebrates the spirit of the festive season and showcases Goa’s vibrant cultural heritage.
One of the highlights of this event for some years has been the popular Srikrishna vijayotsav Competition.
However, this year, due to ongoing infrastructure projects like Fly over and associated challenges, the Department of Tourism regrets to announce to keep the Srikrishna Vijayotsav Competition on hold for Diwali 2024.
The ongoing construction of the flyover in the vicinity, combined with the service road being occupied with heavy traffic, has led to a lack of a suitable and secure venue to conduct the event this time.
Despite efforts by the Department of Tourism and Police Traffic Cell to find an alternate location, no feasible options were identified to host this significant celebration.
We appreciate the public’s understanding and continued support, as ensuring the safety and convenience of our citizens and tourists remain our top priority.
We look forward to resuming the event in the coming year once the infrastructure projects are completed and better facilities are available.
