PANAJI: Goa Medical College, Bambolim emerged champions in the Inter-Collegiate Chess (Mix) Championship 2024-25 organized by Goa University at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Goa University Campus, Taleigao on 23rd& 24th July 2024.
P.E.S Ravi S. Naik College of Arts & Science Farmagudi claimed the runners-up title while Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, finished third.
Best Player was awarded to Ayush Shirodkar from Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao Goa.
The chief guest for the closing ceremony was Ashwin Lavande, deputy registrar-academic at Goa University, and guest of honour Sanket Gaude, assistant. Registrar, Admissions, Goa University, Arvind Mhamal, International Arbiter, Dattaram Pinge, FIDE Arbitrator, along with Balachandra B. Jadar, Asst. Director of Physical Education and Sports, at Goa University presented trophies to the winners at the event.
Goa Medical College, Bambolim team comprised Anvesh Bandekar, Christley C. Pereira, Soham Naik, Vardhan Shetkar, and Steven Facho.
P.E.S Ravi S. Naik College of Arts & Science The Farmagudi team was represented by Sathvik Kerkar, Tanay Madkaikar, Tejas Gaude, Kartik Gaude and Vardhaman Kerkar.
Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda team was represented by Vraj Porob, Ishan Pagi, Ayush Nagarsekar, Aarth Vajandar, and Sanjeev Parab.
