New Delhi: International reactions poured in after a deadly car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro station on Monday claimed nine lives and left at least 20 people injured. The blast, which occurred close to Gate 1 of the station and sparked a fire that damaged several vehicles, has been linked by investigators to a terror plot. Security across the capital was immediately tightened, with airports, metro stations and key government buildings placed on alert.

France also extended condolences and expressed support for the victims’ families, while Sri Lanka said it stood with India during this difficult moment. Messages of sympathy followed from Morocco, Australia and Iran, each country voicing sorrow and wishing recovery to those hurt in the explosion.
Authorities in India reported that the blast created intense flames that engulfed nearby vehicles. Photos from the scene captured broken windows, damaged cars and rising smoke. Home Minister Amit Shah said the explosion involved a Hyundai i20 near a traffic signal close to the Red Fort. He confirmed that CCTV recordings from the area will be a key part of the inquiry.
Officials stated that all potential links and motives are being examined. Shah added that investigators will move quickly and share their findings once the assessment is complete. The incident has prompted heightened security and increased vigilance across the capital as agencies work to determine the source and intent behind the attack.
