New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today extended financial assistance of ₹10 lakh each to the relatives of four members of a Delhi family who lost their lives in the devastating fire at the ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub in Arpora, Goa, on December 6, 2025.
The total compensation amounting to ₹40 lakh was formally handed over at the Delhi Secretariat to the family members, including Bhavana Joshi, one of the affected kin. Cabinet Minister and Karawal Nagar MLA Kapil Mishra was also present on the occasion, reiterating the Delhi government’s commitment to stand by the family and provide all necessary support.
Speaking on the incident, Kapil Mishra termed the tragedy deeply distressing and attributed it to grave negligence. He said the government acted promptly to ensure financial relief reached the bereaved family.
Bhavana Joshi, while sharing her ordeal, said the incident had turned her life upside down. She noted that she is now solely responsible for caring for three elderly parents and four children. Expressing her gratitude, she thanked Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Kapil Mishra for the timely assistance and support extended during an extremely challenging phase of her life.
