PANAJI: As the Trinamool Congress party gears up to face the 2022 elections in Goa, Supremo Mamata Banerjee declined to declare their party’s Chief Ministerial candidate for the polls.
The party, which has entered Goa politics this month, is open for alliance with like-minded political outfits.
“As of now, it is impossible for us to name chief ministers face because many people are continuously joining the TMC. Once it is the right time, we will announce the CM face for Goa,” said Mamata.
She further said that TMC is open for alliance with like-minded parties and depends on the situation.
“We want to run Goa from Goa and not Delhi. We are open for alliance with like-minded parties, and if anybody wants to work with us, we will be extremely happy,” she added.
Mamata further claimed that her agenda was extremely clear and that he wanted to make a perfect system to help Goa.
“I want to see Goa smile again; in my opinion, Goa is a beautiful state, and the BJP government has ruined it; Delhi dadagiri won’t work anymore,” the WB CM said.
She also said that BJP is not a cultured party and that their culture is very poor, and the TMC wanted Goans to elect their own government and that her party would help.
“I am not an outsider. I am not going to be the chief minister of Goa, but I want to see that there is a system, policing, federalism and an anti-corruption government,” Banerjee added.
Banerjee said that she is an Indian and can go anywhere while claiming that if Bengal is her motherland, Goa is also her motherland, “I come to Goa, they deface my posters. They (BJP) have mental pollution. They showed me black flags, I said namaste,” Mamata claimed.
Speaking on mining, Mamata said that once in power, TMC will make a policy on mining to restart mining at the earliest.
Ahead of the 2022 assembly polls, Bollywood actress Nafisa Ali and Mrinalini Deshprabhu on Friday joined Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee.
Meanwhile, renowned tennis player Leander Paes joined the Trinamool Congress in the presence of party supremo and West Bengal Mamata Banerjee.
“I am very grateful for this opportunity from Didi… The vehicle that I chose for the last 30 years to make our people proud was Tennis. Now that I have retired from Tennis, the vehicle has changed. I would like to make a difference to the youth.” Paes said.
