SANCOALE: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) arrested a 33-year-old delivery agent in a late-night raid at Upasnagar, Sancoale, for allegedly peddling drugs under the guise of food delivery. The accused, identified as Rahul Uppaldinni of Vaddem, Vasco, was caught with 226 grams of ganja worth ₹22,600.
Police said the accused used his work as a delivery agent to discreetly supply ganja, particularly to youth at hangout spots. Based on specific intelligence, ANC sleuths laid a trap and apprehended him. Along with the narcotics, a scooter and a mobile phone used in the illegal trade were seized.
The raid was led by PI Sajith Pillai, assisted by ASI Sandeep Konadkar and a team of police personnel, under the supervision of DySP ANC Nerlon Albuquerque and SP ANC Sunita Sawant. The accused was produced before the magistrate and remanded to five days’ police custody. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sunil Falkar.
