MORMUGAO: In a landmark operational feat, Delta Ports Mormugao Terminal Pvt Ltd (DMTPL), the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) operator at Mormugao Port Authority (MPA), has created a new record by loading 30,581 metric tonnes (MT) of iron ore pellets within a 24-hour window.
The cargo was loaded onto the vessel MV Vishva Chetna, which docked at Berth No. X on the evening of June 16. The vessel is scheduled to carry a total consignment of 67,500 MT of iron ore pellets meant for Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Pvt Ltd (MRPPL).
Commenting on the achievement, MPA Chairman Dr. N Vimodkumar said the milestone highlights the port’s improved cargo handling capacity and praised the joint efforts of the Delta Ports and MPTL teams. He noted, “This record reflects the commitment, efficiency, and coordination of the terminal’s workforce and reaffirms Mormugao Port’s role as a strategic hub for iron ore exports.”
The accomplishment sets a new benchmark for the port, reinforcing its capability to cater to rising global trade demands.
