Panaji: The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, in association with the respective Carnaval Committees, has officially announced the results of the Float Parades held as part of the vibrant Goa Carnaval 2026 celebrations across the State.
The results of Major centres like Porvorim, Panaji, Margao, Vasco, Mapusa, and and minor centre like Morjim were formally declared during a press conference addressed by Shri Deepak Narvekar, Deputy General Manager (Marketing), GTDC, along with Shri Jayesh Kankonkar, Assistant Director (Tourism), and the representative of Mapusa Carnaval Committee, Shri Michael Carrasco. The results were announced across five key categories — Traditional, Club & Institution, Family, Fun Junky Car, and Clown/Joker — recognising the diverse range of themes and presentations showcased during the parades.
Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Shri Rohan Ashok Khaunte, congratulated all the winners and participants, stating, “Goa Carnaval continues to be a celebration of creativity, culture, and community participation. The enthusiasm witnessed across all locations reflects the collective spirit of our people. Such platforms not only preserve our traditions but also encourage innovation and responsible celebration, strengthening Goa’s position as a vibrant cultural destination.”
Director of Tourism, Shri Kedar Naik, remarked, “The Float Parades this year saw remarkable participation across categories, with high standards of presentation and coordination. We appreciate the efforts of every participant, organiser, and volunteer who contributed to the success of Goa Carnaval 2026.”
The much-anticipated parades were organised at Porvorim, Panaji, Margao, Vasco, Mapusa, and Morjim, drawing enthusiastic participation from cultural groups, institutions, families, sponsors, and individual performers. Each location witnessed an impressive display of creativity, colour, music, and community spirit, reflecting the distinctive character of Goa’s festive traditions.
The collaborative effort between the Department of Tourism and the local Carnaval Committees ensured that each parade upheld the festive essence while maintaining orderly conduct and responsible celebration. Goa Carnaval 2026 once again reinforced its position as one of the State’s most iconic cultural festivities, bringing communities together and offering visitors an immersive experience of Goa’s celebratory traditions.
All winners are requested to submit their valid ID proofs along with their bank account details to the Department of Tourism at the earliest to facilitate the process of prize disbursement.
