MORMUGAO: The Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Mormugao has reported four instances of alleged illegal encroachment and construction by minority institutions on Comunidade land in Mangor Hill and New Vaddem, urging the Comunidades Administration to take necessary action.
In a communication dated 18/11/2025, the Deputy Collector enclosed a report and checklist received from the Mamlatdar of Mormugao, highlighting structures linked to minority religion. Two of the structures are located on survey numbers of Chalta no 5 ( part of Vasco ) under P.T. Sheets 170 showing approximately 150 sq mtrs area . Another structure is located in P.T.Sheet no 157,Chalta no 22 of Vasco city with an area of approximately 150 sq mtrs and the fourth structure is located in PT Sheet no 141, Chalta no CE-10 of Vasco city with an area of approximately 200 sq mtrs.
The letter notes that the land under these structures belongs to the respective Comunidades and requests the Administrator of Comunidades, South Zone, Margao, to initiate appropriate proceedings.
A copy of the report has also been forwarded to the Mamlatdar of Mormugao Taluka for further action.
