PANAJI: The Panaji Police have registered a case following a complaint filed by Deputy Commissioner of the Tax Department, Manthan Manish Naik, 27, alleging obstruction of duty, abuse, and assault.
According to the complaint lodged on November 2, Naik stated that on October 27, while he was on duty at the Rajya Kar Bhavan, Commercial Tax Department office at Althino, Panaji, one of the accused, identified as Yogita Khandeparkar, along with Vaishnavi Khandeparkar and other unidentified persons, allegedly entered his workplace, obstructed him from performing his official duties, and verbally abused and defamed him in front of his colleagues.
The complainant further alleged that when his family members later visited the accused’s residence in Taliegao to amicably resolve the matter, the accused persons and their family members allegedly assaulted his mother and sister, Siya Dhargalkar, with stones.
Police said the case is being investigated by PSI Saheen Shetye, and further inquiries are in progress.
