PANAJI: Dev Bare Karu has been unveiled as a heartfelt musical tribute that captures the true essence of Goa and its people. More than just a song, it is a rich collection of soulful expressions woven into a warm and evocative musical presentation that reflects the affectionate traditions and cultural depth of Goan life.
The project brings together a proud all Goan ensemble, featuring renowned singers Hema Sardesai, Lawrry Travasso, Sonia Shirsat, Gautami Hede, Bambolkar, Pradyumna Prabhudesai, Neisha Mascarnhas and Sidhanath Buyao. Each artist has contributed with deep emotional commitment, making the song a collective celebration of Goan identity and values.
The music has been composed by Sidhanath Buyao, while the Konkani lyrics are penned by Saish Pol Palandikar and the English lyrics by Neisha Mascarnhas. Visuals and editing have been handled by Satesh Gawas, adding a strong narrative layer to the musical experience. The concept of Dev Bare Karu is envisioned by Vinayak Prabhu and supported by Shrikant Bapat of Labindia, with guidance and encouragement from several prominent personalities.
The song was launched by Goa’s Tourism and IT Minister Rohan A Khaunte, who has consistently emphasised that the true spirit of Goa lies beyond its beaches. The central idea of Dev Bare Karu aligns with this vision, encouraging people to explore and understand Goa through its culture, emotions, and traditions rather than limiting it to tourism imagery.
Speaking at the launch, Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Sadanand Sheth Tanavade described the song as a bouquet that presents Goa to global audiences, offering an authentic cultural narrative rooted in emotion and belonging.
Singer Hema Sardesai expressed that she was instantly drawn to the concept and joined the project without hesitation. The artists involved believe the song will resonate deeply with listeners and evoke strong emotional connections. Actor Milind Gunaji, who travelled from Mumbai to be part of the project, shared that the song carries universal feelings and has the potential to reach audiences far and wide as a true song of Goa meant for everyone.
