MAPUSA: Ramkrishna Uttam Bhalekar, also known as RK (32), of Laxminagar, Mapusa, was the main culprit in a violent assault case. He was eventually taken into custody by police in Amboli, Maharashtra.
RK had spent the previous twenty-two days avoiding capture. Two people were seriously hurt in the incident on May 30, including Ahmed Devadi, who passed away a few days ago while undergoing treatment.
Following almost six raids carried out in various areas in Goa and Maharashtra, RK was intercepted while traveling through Amboli, Maharashtra. A personal argument led to the attack in a remote part of Ganeshpuri, Mapusa.
Three suspects, all inhabitants of Khorlim, Mapusa, were taken into custody on the day of the incident by the Mapusa Police: Manthan Chiri (24), Sridhar Killedar (26), and Abhishek Pujari (20). Three more suspects were then taken into custody: Sharanbasu Gaikwad (27), Nagaraj Pujari (19), and Boresh Pujari (38).
At first, the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 120 (B), 307, 326, 506 (2), and 34 were the charges that the police had brought.
Following Ahmed Devadi’s passing, Section 302 of the IPC (murder) has been added to the accusations.
According to sources, there was a personal conflict between the attackers and the victims, who were known to each other.
