VALPOI: Villages in Sattari taluka are looking forward to a fresh wave of development, with more than 500 proposals from 12 Gram Panchayats awaiting approval at the Directorate of Panchayats. Once cleared, these projects will pave the way for much-needed rural infrastructure improvements.
For the past three years, Panchayat development works have slowed due to pending approvals. However, elected Panchayat members remain hopeful that funds will soon be released, enabling progress on works such as compound walls, drains, Ganpati sheds, playgrounds, and footpath protection.
Local MLA and Health Minister Dr. Deviya Rane has been consistently following up with the Panchayat Minister and Secretariat to push for clearance of the proposals. His efforts, Panchayat members believe, will help unlock long-stalled development in the near future.
Sattari has 12 Gram Panchayats — four under Valpoi constituency (Nagargaon, Khotoda, Sawarde, Guleli) and eight under Parye constituency (Keri, Parye, Morle, Honda, Pisurle, Bhironda, Mauxi, Thane). Together, they represent a vital link in delivering grassroots development.
Panchayat members say that once funds are sanctioned, the next year and a half of their term can be dedicated to implementing projects that directly benefit villagers. With proposals already prepared and awaiting approval, there is optimism that Sattari’s villages will soon witness visible progress on the ground.
