Ayodhya: The Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya has received donations exceeding Rs 3,000 crore from devotees across India, according to Ram Mandir Construction Committee chairman Nripendra Mishra. The total estimated cost of the grand temple project stands at around Rs 1,800 crore, of which nearly Rs 1,500 crore has already been billed.
Mishra said the remarkable response from the public reflects the deep devotion and collective spirit of people towards the temple. The nationwide fundraising campaign, launched in 2022, saw contributions from millions of citizens who came forward to support the project.
As a gesture of gratitude, all donors will be invited to attend the upcoming flag hoisting ceremony on November 25. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will serve as the chief guest and is scheduled to hoist the flag atop the temple’s spire. A successful trial for the flag hoisting was conducted earlier this week.
During his visit, the Prime Minister is also expected to offer prayers at several nearby temples within the 70-acre complex, including the Sheshavatar temple, Kuber Tila and Sapt Mandapam.
The Ram Temple, consecrated on January 22, 2024, when the idol of Lord Ram was installed, stands as a monumental symbol of faith and cultural heritage. The temple’s main sanctum can accommodate between 5,000 and 8,000 devotees at a time.
According to Mishra, the darshan route from the entry to the southern exit takes around 20 minutes, while the complete route extending up to Sugriv Kila takes approximately 40 minutes.
Over 8,000 guests are expected to attend the November ceremony, marking another milestone in the temple’s journey one built on faith, unity and contributions from devotees nationwide.
