PANJIM: Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) has introduced an online admission system, through which students can apply in two non-professional colleges of their choice, at a time. The online admission process will begin on July 15.
In a statement, the DHS has said that all the students, who have cleared Class XII, and seeking admission in any of colleges which are under the administrative control of DHE, should apply through common portal available on http:// https://www.dhe.goa.gov.in.
The Government and Aided Colleges under DHE’s administrative control offers spectrum of courses including BA, BCOM, BSC, BCA, BBA, LLB, Music, Home Science, BSC/B.Ed, BA/BE.d and several others.
Generally, these colleges were handling the non-professional undergraduate student’s admissions process independently either online or in-person.
“But this year the process will be centralized and will be completely handled online including fees payment without visiting off site campus,” DHS said.
The Directorate maintained that in the view of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic challenges, under the MHA guidelines, since it has been recommended to avoid any in-person academic activities including admission for upcoming academic year, DHS has decided to streamline the admission process completely online.
“The portal will provide detailed guidelines for the students about the online application process. Through this portal, students can apply to a maximum of two colleges of their choices across Goa with the priority option,” DHS said.h
Further, the portal will also facilitate the merit list generation, counseling, final selection, and online payment. The students who are not shortlisted in first Iteration of admission, will get a chance to apply in second iteration.
