CANACONA: People suffering from chronic diabetes receives a shot in the arm, as Nave Marg Foundation opens its 27th Living Happily With Diabetes Club at Community Health Centre(CHC), Canacona on Monday.
The Club enrolled 34 Diabetes of Canacona on the first day itself at the launch ceremony of Living Happily With Diabetes Club at CHC in the presence of Canacona Dy. Collector/SDO Ramesh Gaonkar, Health Officer Dr. Jose Tavares, Medical Officers Dr. Iona barrette, Dr. Divakarji Velip and others.
Nave Marg Foundation Chairman Dr. Celso Fernandes informed the club will hold free Yoga and Meditation sessions along with the periodic diet counselling and periodic blood tests. ‘record will be maintained and all those with high risks will be given priority attention. Our mission is to spread awareness along with free therapeutic services to the needy and elderly suffering from Diabetes and to make State of Goa Diabetes Free. Our concept has tremendous results and number one reason being coming together as a group ’.
Considering this (diabetes) as a major health hazardous issue, the CHC with the Directorate of Health Services and fully supported by Dy. Collector (Canacona) Ramesh Gaonkar , has initiated to this concept of launching it’s 27th Living Happily With Diabetes Club at Community Health Center to cater to the Citizens from Canacona region and help them to lead healthier lives through regular Yoga’s and exercises which are totally free, and costs are borne by the social welfare organization (Nave Marg Foundation) itself.
Incidentally, Nave Marg Foundation has started with the unique concept called Living Happily With Diabetes Clubs in August 2021 and already has 26 such clubs with over 900 members availing free services all over Goa.
At the launching cum- awareness function held in the conference hall of CHC, Dr Celco Fernandes, Health Officer Dr Jose Tavares, Medical Officer Dr Ivona Barretto, Bro. Prashant Devidas , Yoga Instructor Sandesh Velip, Coordinator Damodar Chari and other staff of the CHC s coordinated. Alltogether 34 numbers of Diabetes patients have been joined in this unique Concept of Living Happily With Diabetes Club to take the benefit of facilities provided to tackle the risk factor among people.
Earlier Dr Jose Tavares welcomed, and Dr Celso Fernandes briefed the unique concept of establishing Diabetics Clubs in our Canacona region.
