DONA PAULA – In a bid to form a formidable force by uniting all Opposition parties, several local MLAs met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday at International Centre Goa.
Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte, Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar, Benaulim MLA Churchill MLA and his daughter Valanka Alemao met Banerjee today.
The leaders said that there was nothing official as it was only a courtesy visit.
“It was just a courtesy visit, and I came here to listen to her vision for Goa,” Khaunte said.
He further said that all Opposition parties have to come together to defeat BJP in Goa.
Churchill Alemao also said it was a courtesy visit, and he came to meet here to discuss football.
“We are here to discuss football. We have known each other for a long time only because of football,” he said.
Dhavalikar said he had just a casual talk and spoke about possibilities and alliances.
“There was nothing official. We came here as she gave us an appointment,” he said.
He stated that Trinamool wants to fight in all 40 constituencies, so there is no question of an alliance.
On the controversy over banners and cartoons of the Prime Minister and Hoem Minister, he said he condemns such things.
“As a woman, we have to respect her, but I condemn the cartoon of PM and HM as they are leaders of our country and cannot be insulted in such a way.,” he said.
MGP president Deepak Dhavalikar, however, said that his party will go all alone.
“We came here as we were called, but we have decided to go all alone in the forthcoming elections,” he said.
