PANAJI: The Directorate of Social Welfare has invited entries for a Reel Making Competition titled “Say No to Drugs” to spread awareness against drug abuse and promote healthy and positive life choices.
The competition is being organised under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), a central sector scheme implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The competition is open in two categories — Student Category and General Public Category — and participants are required to create reels based on the theme “Say No to Drugs”, focusing on awareness, prevention, and positive life choices.
As per the guidelines, the reel duration should be between 60 and 90 seconds. The reel must be uploaded on Instagram and collaboratively tagged with @socialwelfare.goa and @yuva.panaji. Reels must be original, and any copied or derivative content will lead to disqualification. Content that is explicit, offensive, violent, inappropriate, or that promotes or glorifies drugs in any form will not be permitted.
Reels may be made in English, Hindi, Konkani, or Marathi, and subtitles are encouraged. The judging criteria will be based on 50 per cent creativity and 50 per cent content and message clarity, with likes, views, or reach not being considered for evaluation.
The last date to upload the reel is February 8, 2026. The organisers reserve the right to use selected reels for awareness purposes. The judges’ decision will be final and binding, and shortlisted entries will undergo document verification to confirm eligibility under respective categories.
Prizes for each category include ₹10,000 for first prize, ₹8,000 for second prize, ₹6,000 for third prize, and five consolation prizes of ₹4,000 each, along with certificates of participation for selected entries.
