Minister for Waste Management Michael Lobo on Wednesday said that the disposal of recovered RDF from the Sonsodo remediation site will begin tomorrow.
Speaking to reporters after a review meeting of GWMC at GWMC office at Saligao along with MD Levinson Martin, GM Domnic Fernandes, and Ganesh kandaswami from Hindustan waste management, Lobo said that RDF could not be transported during lcokdowns.
“Review was conducted on various projects of Goa Waste Management Corporation including Banguinim, Sonsodo and Cacora,” he said.
The minister informed that during discussions the project related to RDF disposal from Saligao was reviewed.
“Since lockdown no RDF were disposed but post Lockdown now RDF has been disposed and approximately about 9000 tons of RDF were disposed in last 25 days the balance will disposed and cleared in next 2 to 3 months. The recovered RDF from the remediation site of sonsodo will be started to be disposed from tomorrow onwards,” he said.
