PANAJI: The Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communication (DITE&C), Government of Goa, held its 10th Empowered Committee Meeting at the Conference Hall, Mantralaya, Porvorim, to review applications under the Seed Capital Grant Scheme of the Goa Startup Policy 2025. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and co-chaired by IT, Electronics and Communications Minister Rohan Khaunte, with senior government officials and industry representatives in attendance.
The Seed Capital Grant Scheme provides one-time financial assistance of up to Rs 10 lakh to startups that have developed a Minimum Viable Product. The Startup and IT Promotion Cell received 27 applications, which were examined by an expert committee, and 16 startups were recommended to the Empowered Committee for further consideration. Startups from sectors such as information technology, artificial intelligence, health tech, tourism tech, OTT, media tech, edtech, e-commerce and fintech presented innovative solutions developed in Goa and were evaluated on innovation, feasibility, scalability, revenue model and long-term sustainability.
By consensus, the committee selected eight startups for support, including Home Health Healer, Reverse Infinity Pvt. Ltd., Dumfries Vision, Vishkar Modernizing Construction, Incluseer, Sevaco, Buraa and Vindaloo Entertainment Private Ltd. Addressing the meeting, IT Minister Rohan Khaunte said the quality of innovation showcased reflected Goa’s growing stature as an emerging startup hub and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to nurturing early-stage enterprises.
The meeting also marked support for student innovation through the newly launched Campus Innovation Scheme, under which cheques of Rs 50,000 each were presented to 10 student projects from five engineering colleges in Goa. The projects covered areas such as healthcare technology, artificial intelligence, smart agriculture, autonomous drones, sustainable manufacturing and assistive technologies.
The increasing number of startup and student innovation proposals underscores Goa’s emergence as an innovation-driven state. Through initiatives like the Seed Capital Grant Scheme and the Campus Innovation Scheme, the Government of Goa continues to strengthen the startup ecosystem by providing early-stage support and creating an enabling environment for innovators to build, scale and succeed.
