MARGAO: The District Magistrate (DM) of South Goa has issued a public notice urging citizens to report unsafe or structurally weak buildings and structures within the district. The move comes amid growing concern over continued occupation of visibly dilapidated premises, posing serious risks to life and property.
Residents have been advised to report such buildings to the respective local municipal bodies. For areas falling outside municipal limits, citizens should approach the concerned Block Development Officer (BDO) for necessary action.
The DM has further cautioned the public against residing in or conducting any activities from unsafe or structurally unsound premises. Owners and occupants have been reminded that ensuring the safety of their properties is their primary responsibility.
In case of emergencies, citizens may contact the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) Helpline No. 112 or the South Goa Collectorate Control Room at 0832-2794100.
