Any person contravening this order will be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
Interestingly, the order comes a day after the All Goa Muslim Jamat announced that no namaz will be held for Eid on August 5.
Earlier, in an indirect warning to those violating SOPs during COVID19 pandemic, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant last week had urged the All Goa Muslim Jamat to follow the SOPs during the Bakri Eid to be celebrated on August 1.
The request was made by the Chief Minister, at a meeting held a meeting with members of All Goa Muslim Jamat to take a review of Bakri Eid preparations.
“Strict legal action will be taken against those violating the SoP and laws. During this tough time, let us abide by rules and celebrate Eid with peace and love,” the Chief Minister said.
