Panaji: The Inter-Collegiate Volleyball Championship for Men and Women 2025–26, organised by Goa University, was held from February 24 to 27, 2026 at the university grounds in Taleigao.
Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao emerged champions in the men’s category, while St. Xavier’s College Mapusa clinched the women’s title.
In the women’s final, St. Xavier’s College defeated Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College, Pernem 3–1 to secure the championship. In the semifinals, Pernem overcame Carmel College Nuvem 3–1, while St. Xavier’s defeated GVM’s Gopal Govind Poy Raiturcar College 3–0.
In the men’s final, Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College defeated Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College 3–0. Earlier in the semifinals, Assagao beat Government College Sanquelim 3–0, while Canacona defeated Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College 3–0.
Ashwek Gawade of Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College was named Best Player in the men’s category, while Gauri Shetgaonkar of St. Xavier’s College won the Best Player award in the women’s category.
A total of 33 men’s teams and 28 women’s teams participated in the four-day tournament.
The prizes were distributed in the presence of chief guest Dr. Satyavan Harmalkar, Director of Physical Education and Sports at Narayan Zantye College, and guest of honour Dr. Sushant Haldankar, Director of Physical Education and Sports at Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College, Assagao, along with Goa University Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports Balachandra B. Jadar.
