KORGAO: In a major joint operation, the NCB Goa Zonal Unit along with Pernem Police seized suspected DMT worth around ₹1 crore from a residence at Pethwada, Korgao, between December 9 and 10, 2025. Acting on specific intelligence, the teams raided the premises and recovered a total of 1,321 grams of substances believed to be various forms of DMT along with extraction materials. The seized items included 933 grams of dark brown liquid suspected to be DMT, 41 grams of raw wood bark used for DMT extraction, 388 grams of a coffee-coloured liquid form of DMT, and 8 grams of dried mushrooms suspected to be used in the preparation of liquid DMT. The contraband was allegedly found in possession of Belarus national Ina Volkova, residing at Pethwada, Korgao. Authorities later placed her under arrest on December 10, 2025. Following the seizure, NCB Crime No. 03/2025 was registered under Sections 8(c), 22(c), 28, and 29 of the NDPS Act, 1985. Further investigation is being carried out by PI Mohan Rane of the NCB Porvorim unit to trace the source of the contraband and determine whether a larger extraction or supply network is involved.
