PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has urged people not to bring unnecessary religious issues to police stations that could incite communal violence, given the growing animosity between two religious groups over the Julus controversy in Canacona.
The CM emphasized the value of maintaining self control and advised people of all faiths to refrain from needless trips to police stations for unimportant issues.
“I have been saying that religion shouldn’t be taken to the police station unnecessarily because that can cause communal tension.”
Reacting to Canacona Julus controversy, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that Goa police will take decision according to law and order situation. Sawant said that permission will only be based on prevailing situation; “Be it Julus or anything will act as per law”.
