Isn’t it surprising that hundreds of drug peddlers are arrested every year, but the Police have no clue where the drugs come from or who is the kingpin?
It clearly shows there is nexus between the police-drug mafia and so also the politicians.
Without the support of politicians and Police, the business would never flourish.
After being voted to power, every politician pledges to eradicate the drugs mafia, but as his tenure progresses, their tone is muted with Vitamin M…Isn’t it?
Of late, we have seen a series of raids in the State after actor Sushant Singh Rajputs death; there were links to the drug’s sales in Goa through the Darknet.
However, the NCB raids and the resolve to finish drugs in India, Goa or Bollywood have almost met the dead-end or have been deliberately derailed.

In Goa, we have often seen small-time drug peddlers being arrested with a few lakh rupees worth of narcotics almost every day, but neither the local Police, Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC), the Crime Branch (CB) or the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) have been able to lay their hands on the kingpins.
Right from the days of hippies in the 1970s-80s, there has been drug peddling on the coastline, and to tackle this State also created ANC, and the Centre followed with NCB.
Of late, there have been drug hauls worth crores in the State, but the big players elude them.

The recent case of Aryan Khan, the son of megastar Shah Rukh Khan, is the perfect example of how the high and mighty can get away with such cases due to the sheer money and muscle power while the small-time peddlers languish in the jails for years as there isn’t anyone to bail them out.
The case also showed that it is relatively impossible to finish the drug abuse in India or Goa as the top celebrities, who are considered role models, are involved in such crimes.
When an officer like Samir Wankhede arrested Aryan Khan, a politician like Nawab Malik, whose son-in-law too is involved in drugs, has the audacity to make wild allegations against the NCB Zonal director, and the media gives him extensive coverage. The issue reached even at the level of Wankhede’s caste certificate and personal family matters.
We as people blame the NCB, simply because we do not like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah and feel they are targetting Shah Rukh Khan.
Well, we need to understand it is not the issue of targetting anyone. It’s about the future of our children. Drugs are slowly killing our roots, the future of our children. Let the Police and NCB do their job, and if they aren’t able to prove their case, we have enough platforms to criticise them. But first, let them do their job.
Those who do not know, please head to the Northern coastal belt in Goa and see for yourself how the drug addiction has finished futures, ruined families. Our own Goan brothers need help.
There is no attempt here to justify Aryan Khan’s arrest, but we need to understand that when a big-time player or celebrity’s name is involved, the definition of law changes.
It seems like they are from some other planet and cannot be tried under the law imposed on the common man.
The same is the case in Goa, be it Dudu Omaghbemi, Atala cases; we have seen several Goa Police officers involved in the case.
Officers like Ashish Shirodkar and Sunil Gudlar were also arrested and suspended, but where has the case headed. Nowhere?
During the Police-politicians-drug mafia nexus and Scarlet KIlling death and murder case, the names of former Home Minister Ravi Naik and his son Roy Naik, among others, also came up to our dismay; there was no headway in the case.
There is no denying that drug abuse is rampant amongst celebrities and so-called the cream of the society, and unless officers like Samir Wankhede are allowed to act against the big names, we will continue to see our youth falling prey to the menace and ruining their future.
