PANAJI: The Dodamarg boy who had inflicted self-injuries after attacking a girl from Bicholim outside South Goa District Hospital in Margao yesterday died this morning while undergoing treatment.
The girl who had dodged to avoid the knife from hitting her neck got injuries on the chin and is recovering in the same hospital.
According to sources, the boy took the extreme step as the family of the girl was opposed to their marriage.
The boy had inflicted a deep cut on his neck after attacking the girl with a knife following a prolonged argument outside South Goa District Hospital, where the girl was working.
Police have registered a suicide case against the boy.
