PORVORIM: The Directorate of Education (DoE) on Friday has withdrawn its circular directing school management to disburse the salary of their respective staff members for the current month from their own funds.
“It is clarified that since all the staff members of the General Administration section of the department engaged in processing the salary bills of the aided schools have been placed under home quarantine, the work of preparation of salary bills has been hampered,” the circular by DoE states
“Therefore it is informed to all concerned that the salary disbursal for the current month is likely to be delayed,” it says
Further the DoE Director Vandana Rao said that the salary disbursement will be delayed and that once the staff members rejoin the duties, the salary bills will be processed.
It can be recalled that yesterday, DoE had asked school management to pay the salaries of their staff from their own funds since the staff attached to the administration section is home quarantined after one member tested positive for COVID19.
