PANAJI: Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola won the Inter-Collegiate Tennikoit Championship for Women organized by Goa University at Silver Jubilee hall, University Campus, Taleigao Plateau, held from 29th September to 1st October 2022.
Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola defeated Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Quepem 2-0 in the finals.
First singles Alpita Khedekar of Government College, Khandola defeated Sweta Gaonkar of Government College, Quepem, in straight sets 21-5 and 21-11. In second singles, Kalpita Velkaskar of Government College, Khandola defeated Doley Fernandes of Government College, Quepem 21-11 and 21-5.
Mrs Josyln D’souza, College Director of Physical Education and Sports, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, was the Chief Guest for the presentation ceremony. She presented trophies and medals to the winners and runners-ups.
Earlier in the semis finals, Government College, Khandola defeated Government College, Pernem 2-0 and Government College, Quepem defeated St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa 2-0. In total, 36 teams participated in the three-day Tennikoit Championship.
