PANAJI: Dr. Bernard F. Rodrigues, a Senior Professor of Botany and presently the Dean, School of Biological Sciences & Biotechnology, Goa University, was awarded the Prof. C. V. Subramanian Memorial Award for his significant contribution to the field of Mycology by the Mycological Society of India (MSI) at the National Conference on ‘Fungal Frontiers: Biodiversity, Biomolecules and Bioengineering Application for Sustainable Perspectives’ and the 51st Annual Meeting of MSI organized by Department of Botany (CAS), Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan held from 26th to 29th November 2024.
In the past, Prof. Rodrigues won several National awards, including the Prof. V. P. Bhide Memorial Award from the Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology (ISMPP) in 2016, Dr. V. Agnihuthurdu Memorial Award from MSI in 2019, Prof. R. P. Purkayastha memorial award from Indian Mycological Society in 2022, besides others. He received the Best University Teacher Award from the Government of Goa in 2017 at the hands of the former Chief Minister of Goa and Defense Minister of India, the late Shri Manohar Parrikar.
