PANAJI: Disability Rights Association of Goa President Avelino de Sa along with the parents and PTA chairman of Sanjay School Vocational Centre Virnodkar today met Member Secretary Sanjay School Nethal Amonkar and incharge Kudalkar over the restarting of the Vocational Centre of Sanjay School Porvorim.
The Centre was closed three months back as the parents were being shunted from department to department to get space for the Centre.
110 students with various severe disabilitites of the Vocational Centre are at home and are facing various behavioural issues for the last three months as their daily routine has been affected as the Centre was closed after they were asked to shift from the unsafe building which led to the death of a special adult.
DRAG has urged Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to intervene in the matter and ensure the Centre was reopened latest by 1st January 2024 after the member secretary expressed her helplessness to restart the centre in the absence of premises.
